This film is about an overweight, abused, illiterate teen who is pregnant with her second child and is invited to enroll in an alternative school in hopes that her life can lead in a new direction.

The reason why I have chosen to analyse this film is because it's quite  brutal and shows emotional struggles, most scenes connect with the audience and things that happen in the movie happen in some people's everyday lives.  Her mother used to make Precious think she was a failure saying that education would never get her anywhere.  

The category this film fits into is drama because of the abuse of her step father and he should have been someone she could trust and receive love and care from. As a result one of the children had down syndrome and unfortunately her mother was very violent and verbally abusive towards her. Precious's mum was jealous that her partner made her daughter pregnant and took it out on her.

The director is Lee Daniels the writers are Geoffery Fletcher for the screenplay version and for the novel Sapphire. The main people that star in this movie are Gabourey Sidibe, Mo'Nique Paula Patton lots of these actors were unknown and that means they didn't have to spend as much money.

The certificate of this film is a 15 because younger viewers will probably find most scenes upsetting and are not old enough to understand the concept of it.
Precious was made in the USA on the November 6 2009 The budget of the film was approximately $10,000,000 and earned a staggering 47,536,959 with earning almost four times the budget of the film is really encouraging especially because it's an independent film.

Central image: The central image is of the main character Precious and she as you can see she has weight problems.There is another image of a butterfly and a crown on top of her head witch has connotations of freedom and being beautiful. 

The title: The title relates to the story line by not having a capital letter at the beginning of her name  shows that she doesn't see herslef as important because of the lifestyle she's living and she also has problems with her literacy.

Release date: Precious was released on January 29, 2010 in the USA.

Stars: The poster displays the actors at the top of the poster, this is a key convention because the audience are able to see who star's in the movie. There are famous actors such as Mariah Carey, and Mo'Nique witch could attract certain audiences.

Audience profile

I have chosen to do an audience profile for Vibe magazine.
I have represented young people from the age of 13 to 29 in my collage.
The social status for people who would purchase and be interested in this magazine would be for anyone that has an interest in music, dancing, fashion and any of the other things I put in my collage but people from c1-a might think they are too prestige for this magazine.
Vibe isn't targeted at a particular race or ethnicity, it involves both male and female music artists but for the one I have chosen girls will be more interested in because of Nicki Minaj having a crown and looking like she's in royalty or something.

Summer project

Divergent

Language- The title is the first thing you see besides the picture and its written in a sort of bold edgy way and the effect of this is for it to catch the audience's eyes and from word of mouth or social media the message could be passed on to more and more people to watch Divergent.
This movie was released on the 21st of march 2014 with everything shot in the USA.

Audience- In my opinion, this movie is suitable from ages 13 to young adults mixed gender because  it looks like both the man and woman are taking a heroic role.Divergent involves some mild violence and mild language but if younger children want to watch it parental guidance is required for some scenes as they are inappropriate.

Institution-
The people who have a role in the production of Divergent are Douglas wick who are associated with  science fiction movies . The person who executively produced were by Barry H Waldman along with others who are also  well known directors. Representation- The focal picture shows a male and female both in dominant positions looking down at people from such a high level which indicates that they are powerful and the background looks futuristic.

Fruit bowl

The style of my fruit bowl was vibrant.
First I searched vibrant on Google images and many photos came up but this images and the image on the top right corner caught my eye so I decided to use it.
The word vibrant means bold and bright and the picture I used defined vibrant for me,
I am not completely happy with the end result with the dark purple because I want it to be lighter and brighter instead of being so dark but I put in the dark purple so that it was finished instead of leaving it unfinished.

The Real Earth Landers

My group members are :Rashida(Me),Abdullah,Gus&Traiq.

The name we came up with for our film is: The real Earth landers and we came up with this name after we figured out the plot of the story.

Our story's sub genre is action/adventure because it involves a fight between humans and aliens for a final say of who owns land.

Our story is basically about Human's digging a hole underground and finding their way to some maze but can't seem to find their way back, back in the day Aliens used to rule the world and they are now coming back to own their land in conclusion it's humans vs Aliens to see who owns Earth.

To make our movie one of the best we decided to have A list Directors to get good promotions and advertisements of other films the directors and producers have done before to get more people to watch it because if they have seen something by them before they will know what to expect.
